How to Remove Scratches From Wii Games

Wii games can become scratched, often from piling the games on top of each other. Your Wii games can also become scratched from sliding them across surfaces on the data side. Scratched games are hard for the Wii to read and might be rendered unplayable. You can remove the scratches using a few techniques that utilize supplies found at the home.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray eyeglass cleaner onto a clean lint-free cloth. Wipe the Wii game from the inside edge to the outside edge. If this does not help clean or remove the scratches, try using toothpaste, car compound paste or Brillo powder.

    • 2

Use a pea-sized amount of car compound paste or toothpaste. Put the toothpaste or compound paste on the Wii game disc. Use a cloth and rub the compound or toothpaste into the Wii game disc to fill in the scratches and help remove them.

    • 3

Rinse the Wii game disc in cold water and use a lint-free cloth to dry your Wii game. Wipe the Wii game disc dry by wiping from the inside edge to the outside edge in straight lines. If the Wii game disc is still scratched, use a small amount of Brillo powder and a few drops of water.

    • 4

Apply a pea-sized amount of Brillo powder to a small bowl and a few drops of water to mix the solution. Use a cotton swab and dip the swab into the solution. Rub the cotton swab in circular motions to help buffer out and remove the scratches in your Wii game disc. Rinse the disc under cold water and dry with a lint-free cloth using straight lines from the inside edge to the outside edge.
