Instructions for Sega Bass Fishing on the Wii

"Sega Bass Fishing" is an updated version of the classic Sega fishing game that made its first appearance in arcades and later on the Sega Dreamcast. The game makes full use of the Wii's motion controls, letting you simulate casting and reeling with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. "Sega Bass Fishing" features four game modes, four types of bass and 15 different lakes.

Instructions

  1. Wiimote Method

    • 1

Select "Practice Mode" from the "Main" menu. "Practice Mode" is the fourth option down right below "Nature Trip Mode."

    • 2

Select your lake (level). Once the level has started you will be prompted to select your lure.

    • 3

Use the D-pad to pick a specific casting spot on the water. Flick the Wiimote back and forth to cast your line. The game's camera will shift to an underwater perspective so you can see when or if a fish takes your lure.

    • 4

Use the Wiimote's Nunchuk attachment to move the lure around underwater. Some fish prefer fast lures while others prefer slow ones, but the lure must stay in motion.

    • 5

Jerk the Wiimote backward to hook a fish. You should see it from the game's angle and the in-game announcer will say "Strike!"

    • 6

Crank the Nunchuk forward in a circular motion to reel in the catch. Onscreen directions will tell you in which direction to move the Wiimote to prevent the line from breaking.

    Game Modes

    • 7

Press up or down on the D-pad or analog stick to select your game mode once the opening cinematic has ended. Press the "A" button to skip the cinematic entirely.

    • 8

Select "Arcade Mode" to play with a time limit. The objective is to catch enough fish to fulfill a set weight requirement before time runs out.

    • 9

Select "Tournament Mode" to catch the largest fish in each stage before time runs out in a tournament.

    • 10

Select "Practice Mode" or "Nature Trip Mode" to play without a time limit. You can pick the time of day and even the season in these modes. The only noticeable difference is sounds of nature replace the game theme music in "Nature Trip Mode."
