How to Play Bolt on the Wii

In the Disney animated film "Bolt," the title-named hero and his owner star on a TV show in which they must rescue her father from the evil Calico. The Wii version of the game takes place in the TV show, where players must use Bolt and Penny to travel the world and find her father. Getting used to the controls takes a little while, but once you do, playing the game brings out some of the action featured in the film.

Instructions

  Press "A" on the Wii remote to select "Start Game." Watch the introduction video and wait for the level to begin.

  Hold the controllers in both hands. Use the Nunchuk in your least dominant hand and the Wii remote in your dominant hand. Move the character around on the screen to get used to the controls and how comfortable the remotes feel. Make any needed adjustments.

  Use the control stick to the move the character around. Press the "A" button to make the character jump. Use the "C" button to grab items. These two controls apply for Bolt and Penny.

  Learn Bolt's specific controls. Use "B" for a minor attack, "Z" for a major attack and the "1" and "2" buttons for "Uber Power" attacks. Move the remotes together in a clapping motion to perform the "Super Sonic Bark." Press "A" to make Bolt jump, then swing the remotes down to do an earthquake-like "Ground Pound."

  Learn Penny's specific controls. Press "Down" on the Wii Remote and hold "B" to sneak around areas. Press the "Left" control pad button on the Wii remote to throw a smoke bomb. Press "Right" to apply techno-camo on Penny and hide from villains. Press the "B" button to swing the wheel bar and attack opponents.

  Collect health capsules throughout levels to build and expand Bolt's health. Some will appear in the wide open while others are hidden behind objects.

  Defeat the six enemy types throughout the game. "Disky" places and throws bombs throughout levels. An explosion will take away a lot of health. "Proddy" shoots spears toward Bolt and Penny. Move quickly to dodge them. "Bully" uses two giant whips. Scare him with a "Super Sonic Bark" and run around him to avoid the whips. "Starry" and "Glovey" are easy enemies but can cause damage with quick attacks. "Stompy" is a large enemy who uses power to cause damage. Use the "Ground Pound" to counter-attack his pounding.

  Save the game after each level. When you restart the game, go to "Start" and select "Load Game" to find your former game file.

  Use a collection of cheat codes to help within the game. During gameplay use the Wii remote game pad to enter codes. Retrieve unlimited "Laser Eyes" with "Left," "Left," "Up" and "Right." Get unlimited "Sonic Super Bark" with "Right," "Left," "Left," "Up," "Down" and "Up." Unlock every level in the game with "Right," "Up," "Left," "Right," "Up" and "Right."
