How to Get Two Animal Crossing Towns on One GameCube

"Animal Crossing" for the GameCube is an easy game for the beginner gamer but can also still be challenging for more serious players. In this game, your animal character lives out its life in the town, meeting neighbors, collecting items, fishing and building a house. "Animal Crossing" is an entertaining game when you have only one town to explore. However, when you add a new town for your character to visit, a whole new section of possibilities and adventures for the game is opened.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert one of the memory cards into the far left memory card slot, labeled "Slot A," on the GameCube. Insert the "Animal Crossing" disc in the GameCube and turn the GameCube on.

    • 2

Follow the directions on the screen to create your town. Your character will be pictured on a train, and another character will ask you questions. Answer these questions to choose names, the date and time, and the gender of your character.

    • 3

      Choose your character's house.

    • 4

Become acquainted with the way the game works and how the town is set up by following the character Nook's instructions and completing his tasks.

    • 5

Save the game and turn off the GameCube.

    • 6

Pull the memory card out of Slot A and set it aside. Insert the second memory card into Slot A. Turn the GameCube back on.

    • 7

Create another town and character by following Steps 2 through 4. Although you may want to choose the same name for both characters, it's a good idea to choose different names for the towns in order to avoid confusion.

    • 8

Save the new game and turn off the GameCube.

    • 9

Pull out the second memory card, the card you were just using, and insert it into the second slot on the GameCube, which is to the right of Slot A. It is labeled "Slot B."

    • 10

Insert the original memory card into Slot A.

    • 11

      Turn the GameCube back on.

    • 12

Move your character to the train station, which is usually located in the northernmost part of town, directly north of your character's house.

    • 13

Talk to the porter at the train station. He will ask you if you'd like to take the train or if you are going on a trip. Answer yes to either question.

    • 14

Enter the new town. You now have two towns, which you can travel to by train, as long as you always have both memory cards inserted into the GameCube.
