Tips on SIM City Creator for the Wii

"SimCity Creator" is a lengthy game with a significant amount of unlockable content. You're tasked with building cities and leading your Sims through into a civilized society. A few tips, cheats and unlockable structures should help you get plenty of structures and different themes to help build and maintain your city.
  1. Unlockables

    • Several structures can be unlocked by reaching certain goals. Increasing your education level to 115 will unlock the "Nuclear Power Plant" and several other structures along the way. Reaching the year 2050 will unlock the "Space Port" and several other increasingly sophisticated structures. Increasing the population to 350,000 will unlock the "Stadium" and "TV Station" along with many other structures.

    Cheat Codes

    • Naming your city certain things at the start of a new game will change its theme. For example, "ancient culture" will unlock a Greek Theme, "become wild" unlocks a Jungle Theme, "future picture" unlocks a Sci-Fi Theme and "mummy's desert" unlocks and Egyptian Theme.

    Raising Your Education Level

    • You can increase your education level by building libraries, museums, schools, opera houses, universities, increasing education expenses and promoting early reading in the budget. It's also necessary to have a main police station and some smaller versions as Sims won't go to school if it's too dangerous. Adding water and power plants also helps, as does building structures to raise education in areas with a high land value.

    Starting Tips

    • Initial construction of your city should begin with the basics, like water and power lines, streets, schools and "gift" items (like "Place of Worship" and "Mayor's Statue) to increase revenue. Build improvements like libraries, police and fire stations after you have started generating revenue. Try to keep taxes around 10 percent to keep people happy, but if you need quick cash it is possible to increase the taxes for a few years. This will annoy the people, but if you lower it in a short amount of time they'll forgive you. Go to your "Budget Sheet" and scroll down to "Deals" to work out deals with neighbor cities.

    Miscellaneous Unlockables

    • Increasing your commercial taxes to $2,100 unlocks the "City Court," while increasing your commercial zones will unlock the "Airport." Keeping your education level above 130 will unlock both the "Science and Technology Center" and the "Waste-to-Energy Plant." Increasing your industrial zones near water will unlock the "Seaport." It will take some time to get the skill level necessary to get all of these structures.

    End Game

    • You have the ability to destroy your city with a natural disaster. The only practical purpose of this is to wipe out your city when you think the stats are too low to survive and you want to start over with a new one.
