How to Kill the Giant Purple Piranha Plant in Piranha in 'Super Mario Galaxy'

In "Super Mario Galaxy," the titular hero must travel between galaxies to earn stars so he can save Princess Peach from the nefarious lizard Bowser. The game contains 120 stars in all, and Mario must nab at least 60 of them before he can face Bowser. In "Good Egg Galaxy," Mario must defeat a series of piranha plants to reach one of the stars.

Instructions

  Jump on a piranha plant to make a vine appear. Shake your Wii remote to climb it.

  Make your way down the path. Avoid the boulders by dodging to the side. Pass the tunnel where the boulder originates to encounter the first purple piranha plant.

  Defeat this enemy by shaking the Wii remote while standing near a green bulb. This will cause Mario to spin and knock the bulb into the plant.

  Climb a stone path to reach a crystal. Spin beside it to uncover a launch star. This will allow Mario to fly to the final planet in the level where he will face the purple dino piranha plant.

  Spin to hit the end of the dino piranha's tail while dodging him. He will run blindly around the level at first because he is still stuck in his egg. After you hit him once, the dino piranha will hatch.

  Run around to avoid the dino piranha's line of sight or he will charge after you. Maneuver around this foe to spin against his tail two more times to defeat him.
