How to Fast Serve in Wii Tennis

Wii tennis fast serves, or power serves, fly across the screen with an illuminated trail behind them. These serves are difficult for opponents to return. Those who are able to return the ball hit it slower and often hit out of bounds. Precise timing and a quick swing must coincide with the peak of the ball's arc for a successful power serve. Controller angle is the key to perfecting this move into a true overhead smash.

Instructions

    • 1

Select tennis play mode in Wii Sports. Using the remote controller, move the cursor over the Disc Channel option. Press the "A" button to select a game.

    • 2

Practice hitting the ball at the exact instant it reaches the highest point while playing the computer. Precise timing makes the fast power serve successful. If the ball is hit too early or late in the arc it will result in a regular serve.

    • 3

Employ the fast power serve in regular game play. Don't use this move on every serve. It serves as a great strategy on the first serve of the game or as a power play against unsuspecting opponents

Watch your opponent's response. Most players cannot react quickly to a power serve. Those who are able to return the ball hit it slower and often hit out of bounds.
