Cheat Codes for New Super Mario Bros

"New Super Mario Bros." was released for Nintendo DS in 2006. The game adds to the traditional side-scrolling "Super Mario" game with new worlds and storylines. The game features cheats that provide new items and modes. A sequel for the Nintendo Wii, titled "New Super Mario Bros. Wii," came out in 2009.

Challenge Mode
- You can access the game's Challenge Mode by entering in a specific cheat. You must beat the entire game before unlocking this mode. Pausing the game on the map is the first step. Then press "L," "R," "L," "R," "X," "X," "Y" and "Y." The Challenge Mode will make areas to the left of the current screen inaccessible.
Luigi
- To play as Luigi in the single player mode of the game, go to the "Select a File" screen. While holding the "L" and "R" buttons, select your file with the "A" button. You can then play as Luigi in the file.
Credits Secret
- At the credits sequence, you may think there is nothing else to do. However, you can use the touch screen for entertaining results. Using the touch screen, you can move letters in the credits and create sound effects to make the credits experience less dull.
