How to Put a Spin on the Tennis Ball in Wii Sports

Tennis is one of the motion-sensitive games included in "Wii Sports." That motion element makes it possible to put two kinds of spin on a shot. Topspin will speed up the ball when it bounces on the other side of the net. Backspin will cause the ball to slow after the bounce. You can use the Wii remote to apply these different types of spin to your shot and make it more difficult for your opponent to predict where the ball will land.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull your arm back and wait until the ball arrives within reach of your character's racket.

    • 2

      Swing your arm forward.

    • 3

Rotate your wrist as you swing. On a right-handed forehand or a left-handed backhand shot, turn your wrist counter-clockwise for topspin or clockwise for backspin. On a left-handed forehand or a right-handed backhand shot, turn your wrist clockwise for topspin or counter-clockwise for backspin. The speed of the spin depends on how much you rotate your wrist.
