Wii Team Games

The Nintendo Wii can engage multiple users in a party atmosphere. One of the main draws to the console is its ability to bring together all types of people, from the hardcore teenage gamer to the grandfather who has never seen a standard game controller. With simple team games, everyone can have fun on the Wii.
  1. Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort

    • These two games are the standard games for the Wii. "Wii Sports Resort," the newer of the two games, comes with 12 different sports to choose from and will guarantee hours of multiplayer fun. Tennis, ping pong and basketball all have modes that allow two teams of two players to play at once against each other. Other games, such as golf, frisbee golf and bowling allow for turn-based, four-player gaming, and the rest of the games typically support two players at once.

Boom Blox and Boom Blox Bash Party

    • This game, developed in conjunction with film-making legend Steven Spielberg, presents an entire world of physics-accurate puzzles to be solved, enough to satisfy even the most die-hard puzzle fan. Reviewer Tom Chick on Yahoo Games described it as Jenga plus Breakout plus Duck Hunt plus LEGOs. "Boom Blox" comes with a Party Mode that has over 100 co-operative and competitive missions that are playable with up to four players. The sequel, "Boom Blox Bash Party" is much more of the same, but with a newer system of mechanics, new environments, new block shapes and a more extensive multiplayer mode.

    Grand Slam Tennis

    • Although tennis is included in "Wii Sports Resort," this version developed by EA games includes, as Mike Bozon pointed out, a much broader range of functionality, including Grand Slam career mode, realistic venues and an increased subtlety of controller movement.
