How to Add Games to the Wii Through an SD Card

The Nintendo Wii is a motion-controlled gaming system intended to make video games more active. One of the many features of this gaming system is the ability to store games on an SD card--data storage devices commonly used in cameras--so you don't have to use the system's memory. If you'd like to download games from elsewhere, or find that your SD card is too full, it helps to know how to get these games from your SD card onto your Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your SD card into the SD card slot on the Nintendo Wii. This is located behind a panel beside the disk drive. Then turn on your Wii.

    • 2

Click the "Wii options" button on the bottom left of the Wii's main menu, then select "Data Management," then "Save Data," and finally, "Wii."

    • 3

Select the "SD Card" tab at the top of the screen. Choose the game you'd like to transfer to your Wii, and press "Copy."

    • 4

Click "Yes," and the file will copy over to the Wii's memory.
