How to Visit Other Cities in Animal Crossing: City Folk on the Wii

"Animal Crossing: City Folk" for the Nintendo Wii features online play in which you and your friends can visit one another's cities and work together to collect items and beautify the town. Because the Wii allows only people who know each other to play online together, you and your friend have to exchange friend codes before your character can visit. After this initial setup, you'll be able to send and receive visitors anytime you and your friend are both playing online.

Instructions

    • 1

Walk through the entrance to the town gate and speak to Copper, the guard dog standing on the right side of the gate.

    • 2

Choose "Friend code!" from the list of options, then select "I want one!" Wait for the Wii to connect to Nintendo WFC and write down your friend code.

    • 3

Exchange friend codes with the person whose city you'd like to visit.

    • 4

Select the "Friends" menu, which is indicated by a heart icon on the bottom of your screen when you point the Wii remote at the television. Choose "Register a friend" and enter your friend's code. Enter the name of your friend's character and town.

    • 5

Confirm with your friend that she has entered your code into "Animal Crossing: City Folk." Ask her to visit Copper and select "Invite guests!" to open her city's gates.

    • 6

Speak to Copper again and select "I wanna go out!" Choose "Nintendo WFC."

    • 7

Select your friend's city from the list of options and wait for the gates to open. Walk through the gates to travel to your friend's city.

    • 8

Talk to Copper once you've finished your visit and select "Go home" to return to your city.
