How to Avoid Shells in Mario Kart for Wii

"Mario Kart Wii" was released in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii console. The game is the sixth in the "Mario Kart" series that began on the Super Nintendo console. The game allows players to race as characters from the "Super Mario" franchise on several tracks. Players can unlock more courses and characters as they progress in the game. In each race, players must avoid three kinds of shells: green, red and blue. Each one has a different level of threat and varies in methods of avoidance.

Instructions

  Hold the "Left" or "Right" buttons on the D-Pad to arm yourself with a banana or shells to block green and red shells. Arm yourself with the triple bananas item or the triple shells items to automatically deflect an oncoming green or red shell.

  Move behind and around objects like fellow riders, cows, walls and other items to avoid green and red shells. Swerve around fences and other barriers with tight corners to avoid the green and red shells.

  Use any speed boosts or mushrooms as soon as a blue shell floats above your head. Drive into a canyon on the Maple Treeway or DK Mountain stages to avoid blue shells.
