How to Tell the Manufacturing Date of a Wii

The Nintendo Wii is a popular video-gaming system that was released in the fall of 2006. It is an advanced piece of consumer electronics, as it features a control-based system of movement for playing video games. Due to the technical nature of the machinery, there are frequent updates to the components of the device. Fortunately, it is possible to use your serial number to determine the manufacturing date and the components that are included in your system. This allows for simpler repairs if the product is out of warranty.

Turn off your Nintendo Wii. You don't want to accidentally unplug the Wii while you are locating its serial number.

    • 3

Dial 1-800-255-3700 (as of August 2010). Select the option to speak with a customer service representative.
