How to Put Music on the Wii Hardware

The Nintendo Wii has taken the world by storm with its design and versatility. However, unlike the XBox 360 or PS3, the Wii doesn't allow its owners to rip music from CDs directly to its hard drive. Luckily, the Wii does have a built-in picture player with background music that will allow you to play any music you like from an SD card.

Instructions

    • 1

Transfer digital MP3 copies of music from your computer to the SD card. Make sure they are as high-quality as you can make them, to reduce the compression distortion during playback.

    • 2

Insert the SD card into the appropriate slot under the small door on the front of the Wii. Make sure to press it in slowly but firmly to ensure a proper connection. Push until the card clicks into place.

    • 3

Turn on the Wii and navigate to the "Photo Channel" on the main page.

    • 4

Click "Change" to open the music menu, and select "SD Card." Your music will now play in its entirety.
