Wii Boxing Instructions

One of the most common experiences with the Nintendo Wii is playing the first game of WiiSports on it. The game includes simulations of tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. The last is one of the more impressive games, as it uses both the Wii remote and Nunchuk to actually put the player in the shoes of a boxer at work. Using the Mii system, it's even a boxer that looks like you. Knowing how to play the game better makes it more fun, and gives you the edge against your friends and the computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Start up the Wii and begin a game of WiiSports. Select the Boxing game, choose your Mii and dominant hand, then begin the round.

    • 2

Hold the Wii remote in your dominant hand, and the Nunchuk in the other. Hold them both vertically, so the remote pointer faces the ceiling.

    • 3

Perform a high block by tilting both control pieces backward slightly, toward you. You can also raise them to mimic your on-screen character's movements.

    • 4

Block your torso with a mid-block. Hold both controllers horizontally, and tilt inward.

    • 5

Dodge oncoming attacks. Hold both controllers vertically, and rotate them to the left or right depending on the direction you need to dodge.

    • 6

Punch at the opponent with a high jab. Holding both controllers vertically, punch forward slightly with one arm. The arm you use in reality will be the arm you punch with on the screen.

    • 7

Jab at the opponent's trunk with a mid-jab. Using your punching arm, hold the controller horizontally, and bring it downward. Again, use the arm you want your character to attack with.

    • 8

Attack the opponent with a high hook. Hold the remote vertically, and rotate it outward. So, if you're punching with the right hand, rotate the controller clockwise. The character will perform a right-high hook. Do the opposite for the left hand.

    • 9

Use a low hook. Hold the controllers vertically, and turn the punching arm inward. If you're using your right hand, turn the controller counterclockwise.

    • 10

Perform an uppercut by holding the controller horizontally and bringing it sharply upward.

    • 11

Practice these moves while you play. Defeat each of your opponents and you'll eventually challenge the Boxing master, Matt.
