The Wii is an innovative gaming system on several different levels. The Wii is designed to offer a new way of video game playing with the remote control system. It also is one of the first consoles to offer games that can be played as a family. Another innovation that Wii gaming has brought is the introduction of a large selection of fun, educational games.
  1. "Big Brain Academy"

    • In this game, players learn basic skills such as math, memorization, quick thinking and visual recognition. There are more than eight different styles of games to play. This game is similar to the "Big Brain Academy" games on the Nintendo DS, but the Wii version allows up to 15 people to play together. This game is effective at teaching players many skills that they can use in other aspects of their lives. This game is best suited for players ages 8 and up.

    "Smarty Pants"

    • "Smarty Pants" is a trivia game that is suitable for players of all ages who will find their memories challenged with this game. Players enter in their ages to get tailored questions that they will be able to answer based on their life experiences. This game also offers mini games within the trivia portion. This game is best played as a multiplayer game and best suited for players ages 7 and older.

    "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?"

    • This game is based on the popular television series with the same name. Players choose from categories ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade questions and knowledge. This game can be played single player or multiplayer. Since this game is designed to ask questions at the fifth grade level, it is best for players who are in fifth grade or older. Younger children can play, but they may be at a disadvantage.

    "Trauma Center: Second Options"

    • "Trauma Center: Second Options" is a medical game similar to the old board game of Operation. The player is required to fix different medical issues through surgery. The surgeries consist of different medical-related mini games. Most of the game uses real medical terminology and some of the procedures are similar to how they are preformed in real life. This game is best suited for players ages 10 and older.

    "My Word Coach"

    • "My Word Coach" is a vocabulary game that is designed to improve a player's vocabulary and language skills. There are six different categories of play. The game offers a dictionary of over 17,000 new words for players to learn. There are also three different levels of difficulty which makes play always challenging.
