Wii Games for Preschoolers

When it comes to shopping for games that are geared towards preschoolers, the Nintendo Wii console has a large library of titles that are appropriate to choose from. For the most part, the Nintendo Wii console and its games put a lot of emphasis on interactive gameplay and controls when compared to other consoles on the market today. Some of the Wii games, especially the ones designed for children, are very educational.
  1. Cars

    • This game is based on the Pixar animated film of the same name and picks up where the film ended. The player takes up the role of Lightning McQueen who must prepare himself for the 2006 Piston Cup season and surpass his competition, Chick Hicks of the Los Angeles International Speedway.

Whether or not your kids have seen the movie, they will enjoy steering fantastic looking car characters with the Wii Remote. The game puts a lot of emphasis on the steering functionality and the result is quite impressive.

Equipped with dozens of races and mini games, there is so much for your child to do in "Cars." The beautiful imagery alone is enough to keep your kid's eyes glued to the screen.

    Go, Diego, Go!: Safari Rescue

    • This is an excellent choice for preschoolers. The controls take less than 10 minutes for kids to learn, making it very easy for them to operate the Wii Remote, moving Diego around, shaking trees, climbing ladders, and pumping balloons. An added bonus is the option of having an adult step in as a second player and act as a guide during certain points in the game.

The game is specifically designed for kids ages 3 to 7. Anyone older than seven may be more likely to find the gameplay and controls too repetitive for them. 'Safari Rescue' makes it so easy for its players to operate that it's nearly impossible to fail a mission or die.

Even the puzzles in this game aren't too hard for kids to master because the game uses animation to describe the steps to the player. Kids will have blast running and jumping around, exploring the jungle, and helping out many animals. Thanks to the easy learning curve, fluid gameplay, and responsive controls, 'Safari Rescue' is a safe bet for kids.

    EA Playground

    • "EA Playground" presents a widely assorted package of games that are bound to appeal to kids of many age levels. These games range from Tetherball, Kicks, Paper Airplane Racing, and Dodgeball to name a few. Half of these games seem generic, but the other half actually lives up to the game's title.

The player begins in a small playground where other children play and you get to challenge them to compete in any game that they choose. Winning games enables you to purchase power-ups, participate in harder competitions, and the opportunity to explore extra playground areas in the game.

Whether you participate in the competitive ball games or the individual challenge games, "EA Playground" is a neat collection of appealing children's games. The Wii Remote even allows you to hi-five your opponent in the game, thus creating an extremely playful atmosphere and tone. While a real playground would be more fun, this game will certainly do for any rainy day.

    Shrek's Carnival Craze

    • The "Shrek" film franchise is well-loved by many children and even adults, so there's no reason why the ''Shrek'' brand of video games would fail to satisfy the fun factor for kids. 'Carnival Craze' retains the same fairy tale mixed with the humor elements of the films and other games but adds a new twist to it.

'Carnival Craze' operates on a game leader-board and introduces over 28 party games which allows players to participate in either team-based or head-to-head challenges. The goal of 'Carnival Craze' is to beat that of the opponent's on the leader-board. More points means more credits for you.

Children will love the graphics and the wide variety of party games and challenges to be apart of; to top it all off, the game features every single 'Shrek' character in the book all in one location so your child is bound to have a fun time in the world of this game.
