How to Troubleshoot a Wireless Guitar for Wii Rock Band

A wireless guitar for the video game "Rock Band," for the Nintendo Wii, is not necessary, but it is highly recommended. When you are in the middle of a jam session, you don't want to trip over wires and accidentally unplug your guitar from your video game console. If you're having problems with your wireless guitar, troubleshooting is a snap.

Instructions

Link the guitar. The wireless guitar for Rock Band Wii comes with an adapter you have to plug into the Nintendo Wii. Plug the adapter into one of the USB slots available. From here, you have to press the button on the adapter, which will turn blue when it is active and ready to be used. This will act as the sensor for your wireless guitar. Do not worry about where you play the guitar, the receiver has a long range; you can play the guitar standing up or sitting down.

Turn on your guitar. There will be an on and off switch on the back of the guitar. Make sure when you are trying to play Rock Band Wii that your guitar is turned on.

Light it up. With all wireless objects for the Nintendo Wii, you need batteries. The quickest way to see if your wireless guitar needs batteries is to press any button on the guitar. If the batteries are fresh and still usable, your guitar will light up (usually with a blue light). Press the button next to the guitar strum to sync the guitar with your sensor bar.

Turn on the Wii. Press the button next to the guitar strum, then load the Rock Band icon. When the game loads, you will be able to play with your wireless guitar during game play (to get the songs, you will have to use the Wii remote).
