Instructions
Start a new game. Click the "A" button to pass the Wii Health and Safety Screen. When the Channel Preview Screen appears, click the disc channel which should have the logo for "Evil Under The Sun." Select "Start," then pass through the instructional screen on how to adjust your Wii strap. Finally, select "Play Game" to start a new game, or "Load Game" to play a game that you have previously saved.
Learn the different cursors. Most of the action in the game is directed with the on-screen cursor. There are several of these, all with their own tasks. A cursor with nothing in it means that you may perform no task. Different arrow cursors exist for you to pan around the screen. Moving around the screen is performed by clicking where you wish to walk when feet, stairs, or a door appear in the cursor. You may interact with other guests by talking, eavesdropping, or following them when lips, an ear, or a shadow appear in the cursor. Interact with items by picking them up (represented by a hand) or using them (represented by a gear.)
Learn the taskbar. The taskbar appears at the top of the screen when you hover the cursor over its location. It includes five options. First, you may go to the in-game menu to perform functions like saving your game by clicking the icon of the hotel. Switch between the mystery and Poirot's office by clicking the icon of Hastings or Poirot's head. View your inventory by clicking the icon with the briefcase. Look over your notes by clicking on the icon with pen and paper inside. Time the distance from parts of the game world back to Cutter's Cove (the scene of the murder) by clicking the stopwatch.
Gather information. Walk around the island, picking up any items that you find. Look around for other guests at the inn. Speak to these guests as much as you can. While your dialogue with them may not make great sense at first, it will mean more as the pieces of the mystery fit together. Above all, perform any function that appears to you at least once.
Check in with Poirot. Any time that you get stuck in the game, go back to Poirot's office. He will be glad to give you hints if you are stuck at a certain point in the game.
