Jillian Michaels is known for her popular "30 Day Shred" DVD, but she makes the transition to the video game world with "Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009." In the game, players follow along with her fitness routine on the Wii balance board, and track progress through the game as well. The video game format allows fitness training to change with each session and provide variety for players.
Gold's Gym Cardio Workout
The large gym company realizes that people want to workout at home, and they have provided an in-depth game that features multiple cardio exercises. When using the balance board, players can simulate jump-roping, kickboxing, running and other exercises within the game.
Wii Fit Plus
"Wii Fit Plus" is the official packaged game with the Wii Balance Board. The game uses the Wii's Mii characters to build a family fitness profile, and it tracks weight and growth among family members. The updated version includes additional tracking of family pets and newborn babies. Fifteen new games are included like "Obstacle Course," "Perfect 10" and "Snowball Fight."
All Star Cheer Squad
Players use dance moves and cheer routines to get their exercise in "All Star Cheer Squad." Players go through training modules to learn routines, then they are put through the test in multiple competitions. A series of rhythmic challenges have players use both the Wii remote and balance board to create cheers. "All Star Cheer Squad 2" is also available for the Nintendo Wii.
EA Sports Active
Unlike the games featured in "Wii Fit Plus," "EA Sports Active" is dedicated to true exercise and fitness. The game package comes with special exercise straps to hold the Wii remote and Nunchuk, features multiple levels of exercising, and tracks player progress with the balance board. Different activities include "Cardio Boxing," "Resistance Bands," "Tennis" and "Volleyball."
Walk It Out
Players looking for casual exercising can enjoy "Walk It Out." The game is a simple walking game with imaginative CGI scenery and different settings that players can enjoy. The game is a relaxing treadmill replacement that also includes more than 100 songs and dozens of unlockable options.
