How to Buy Games on a Wii Online

You can buy Wii games on the Wii Shop Channel using Wii Points. By buying games online and downloading them, you are saving time, money and packaging costs. There are two types of Wii games sold on the Shopping Channel: new games made exclusively for the Wii and distributed only through the Shopping Channel, such as Pokemon Ranch and World of Goo; and old favorites, such as the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Brothers NES, which can be downloaded on the Virtual Console section of the Shopping Channel.

How to Buy Games Online on a Wii

  Make sure your Wii is connected to the Internet.

  From the Wii menu, select the Wii Shop Channel. Since the Channel is retrieving information over the Internet, you may have to wait few seconds.

  For new games, click on the Wiiware button and browse the selections, read the game descriptions or play a demo before buying. You can sort games by New Releases, Popular Titles, Publisher or Genre.
  
  For classic games from old Nintendo systems such as SNES, Sega or N64, select the Virtual Console and browse the selections. You can also sort the games to easily find a classic title.

  Games are purchased using Wii Points. You can buy Wii Points on the Wii Shop Channel with your credit card purchase a Wii Points Card at most large retailers.
  
  You can find your Wii Points total in the middle of the screen on all Wii Shop pages. To buy or add points, click on this total. The "Add Wii Points" screen allows you to redeem your Nintendo Points Card or buy Wii Points with a credit card.

  Select Download to download the game to your Wii.

  Select Home on the Wii Remote to return to the Wii menu. Your downloaded game will appear as an icon or Channel on the Wii menu. Select the game to begin playing.
