How to Troubleshoot the Drums for Rock Band 2 for Wii

Rock Band 2 on the Wii isn't perfect. You may find yourself experiencing issues with your equipment, leading to several songs being failed during game play. When your drums begin acting up, you can first troubleshoot any problems before contacting the manufacturers of the game for support. These steps should be used when your drum kit stops reading beats or powers off irregularly. Physical damage to your drum kit should be handled by the manufacturer.

    • 4

Insert the Drum Kit dongle into an open USB port on your Wii.

    • 5

Power on both the Wii console and the drum kit. Press and hold the small button located on the dongle you attached to the Wii.

    • 6

Locate the gray "Synch" button on the front of the kit and press it. The lights on the center of the drum will flash as the drum kit syncs to the Wii. Once synced, one light on the kit will remain illuminated.

Begin the "Rock Band 2" game disc and enter "Practice Mode". Use only the drums in this mode and monitor the screen as you tap each pad and the foot pedal. If the game does not register each tap you may have a faulty pad, which can be replaced by the manufacturer.
