How to Download Nintendo Games

Wii owners can download a number of Nintendo games through the Virtual Console feature. These downloads include games originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Games released for the Commodore 64, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Neo Geo and TurboGrafx 16 are also available for download. These games must be purchased with Nintendo's Wii Points which can be directly purchased with a credit card or added using a Wii Points card.

Instructions

  Select the Wii Shop channel from the Wii main menu. This is the menu that comes up immediately after the Nintendo Wii has been turned.

  Choose the "Add Wii Points" option from the Wii Shop menu.

  Add Wii Points by either entering the code from a Wii Points card or purchasing them with a credit card. Wii Points cards can be purchased at most Nintendo retailers.

  Go to the "Virtual Console" option in the Wii Shop menu.

  Choose the game you want to download from the list.

  Confirm that you would like to download the game when prompted. The game will download to your Wii. You can access the game from the main menu as a new channel.
