How to Copy a Wii CD

Nintendo Wii software can be very expensive. If you have the resources, it might be beneficial to make backups of software that you already legally own. Doing so can save you money in the long run should something unexpected happen to your Wii disc.

Things You'll Need

  • Nintendo Wii with mod chip installed
  • Raw Dump 2.0
  • .NET Framework 2.0
  • Nero Burning ROM
  • Winzip (or similar unzipping software)
  • DVD-RW drive (2006 or later recommended)

Instructions

  1. Copying a Wii Disc

    • 1

Right-click Raw Dump 2.0 and select ̶0;Extract to rawdump2.0\\̶1;. This will place Raw Dump into a folder on your desktop.

    • 2

Insert the Wii game you want to copy into your disc drive.

    • 3

Open the newly created Raw Dump folder and run the rawdump2.0 exe. Ignore the UltraMon setting/configuration.

    • 4

Click the ̶0;Start Dump̶1; button. Depending on the size of the game and your disc drive, this may take a few hours. Anticipate it taking 2 1/2 hours at the least. Once it has finished, you will be notified via a pop-up. The newly created ISO is your copy and can be burned.

    • 5

Verify that your dump is correct. Right-click the new ISO and select ̶0;Properties̶1;. Make sure the kb (Kilobytes) is 4,699,979,776 bytes. If it is not, you will need to re-dump.

    • 6

      Open Nero.

    • 7

Select ̶0;Burn Image̶1;. Select your new ISO (it will be in the Rawdump2.0 folder, which should be on your desktop).

    • 8

Choose the second-slowest burning speed. Faster burning speeds increase the chance of error. If you have a newer DVD burner and higher quality DVD-R, you might be able to get away with selecting faster speeds.

    • 9

Wait for the burn to complete. This disc will now work on your Nintendo Wii.
