How to Play Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii

Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D-platform game made specifically for the Nintendo Wii. The controls for the game were designed for use with the Wii remote and nunchuk, but you can also use the classic game controller as well. The point of the game is to play as Mario, who is on quest to rescue the princess from an evil dinosaur named Bowser. Along the way, your character will travel through different galaxies and planets, collecting stars and coins.

Instructions

  Insert the Super Mario Galaxy game into the Wii. Select the game from the top box of the menu screen by pressing the "A" button. Press "A" and "B" at the same time after the Wii safety pop-up screen appears.

  Choose a planet by moving your Wii remote left or right and then pressing the "A" button.

  Select an icon for saving your game and the move over the "Play This File" option and press the "A" button.

  Use the motion and buttons of the nunchuk to control Mario throughout the game. Press "A" to jump, shake the Wii remote to spin, press "Z" to crouch, press "Z" to dive into water, and hold the "A" button to swim fast in the water.

  Swing the Wii remote into a Sling Star to launch Mario into a far distance and aim at the Pull Star with your Wii remote, pressing the "A" button to pull Mario into the star. Press the "Z" button to detach Mario from the star.

  Do a homing attack by doing a spin mid-air and then immediately press the "Z" button to hit any target.

  Fight Bowser at the end of each lever, or galaxy, to continue to the next one. The best way to defeat Bowser is by having the ability to fly, using any objects around you, and by using any of the transformations that you've gained. Transforming into Rainbow Mario will make you invincible. Bee Mario will let you fly and climb honeycomb walls. Boo Mario will let you fly and shaking the Wii remote as Boo Mario will make you transparent. Ice Mario can walk on water and jump through waterfalls. Fire Mario can shoot fire when you shake the Wii remote.

  Collect the six Life Mushroom and Life Shroom before fighting Bowser for the last time. When on the sphere with the plants, spin onto Bowser when he is on his back. You'll then be on a rock. Hide behind the plants when Bowser breathes fire. Hit Bowser with the plant when he rolls towards you. Then, hit Bowser on the back when he is pounding to finally beat him.
