How to Change Pitching Style in Wii Baseball

You've stood in line for hours and have finally scored a Nintendo Wii. You can have great fun playing the interactive Wii Sports package by learning the tricks of the games, including giving your opponents a challenge by changing the pitching style in Wii baseball.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the Wii Sports game disc into your Nintendo Wii. When you get into the Wii Menu, choose the Disc Channel and press the "A" button to enter.

    • 2

Follow the next series of screens--Channel Preview and Title Screen--to get into the Main Menu for your Wii Sports game disc. Choose "Baseball" and choose "1" player if you're going to play against the computer or two players if you have an opponent in your company. To play with two players in baseball, you need to have a second Wii remote.

    • 3

Select the Miis you want to use to play your baseball game. Create your Miis at the main Wii Menu by choosing the "Mii Channel." You cannot save the records from your games played if you elect to play with a "Guest" Mii.

    • 4

Begin playing your baseball game. Hold the Wii remote in your pitching hand and swing easily to test the strength needed during your pitching session.

    • 5

Swing the Wii remote down as you "Throw" the ball. The faster you swing the Wii remote, the faster the pitch. For slow pitches, swing the remote gently.

    • 6

Change your pitching style by using different buttons on your Wii remote. For inside or outside pitches, use the left and right arrows on the front of the remote. Press the "Up" and "Down" arrows to aim your pitches right over the plate.

    • 7

Use a combination of button commands to further change your pitching style. Hold down the "A" button for a curve ball, the "B" button for a screwball and the "A" and "B" buttons together for a splitter. While using these combinations, follow Step 5 for faster or slower versions.
