Things You'll Need
Instructions
Create a clean, dry, well-lit work environment where you plan to install the Wii MOD-CHIP. Lay down newspaper and ensure that there are no metal points that could inadvertently come into contact with the Wii (a spark could fry the Wii's motherboard).
Unscrew the battery housing and set it aside.
Unscrew the entire back panel of the Wii console.
Use a tri-wing screwdriver to remove the screws from the front, as well as the sides and back of the Wii. This will completely disconnect the motherboard and internal components from the chassis.
Unscrew the shield that covers the optical drive and internal components.
Unfold the optical drive up and away from the main housing face so you can see the board underneath.
Install the Wii MOD-CHIP in the upper right corner using the solder at the appropriate contacts. Which contacts are required will vary by MOD-CHIP, so be sure to read the instructions carefully and visually inspect the locations of the connectors on the chip.
Reassemble your Wii and replace all screws in their original positions. Power on your Wii and check that the MOD-CHIP is working correctly.
