How to Make the Bowling Ball Curve in Wii Sports

The bowling game on "Wii Sports" attempts to mimic the physics of bowling in many ways. As you use the Wii Remote to throw the bowling ball, your speed and motions are translated into the ball's movement in the game. Bowlers typically attempt to curve the ball toward the "pocket" between the 1-3 or 1-2 pins for the best chance at a strike. Bowlers must place spin on the ball by twisting their wrists as they release the ball, so the same type of twisting action is required when bowling in "Wii Sports."

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the Wii Remote in your preferred hand with the remote's sensor pointing toward the Wii. Use the wrist strap to ensure you don't throw or drop the remote accidentally.

    • 2

Press down the "B" button on the back of the Wii Remote while raising the remote to your chest. Hold the Wii Remote as if it were a bowling ball that you are preparing to throw.

    • 3

Swing your arm as if you were throwing a bowling ball. In one continuous motion, pull your arm down and back until your arm is outstretched behind you, and then gently yet quickly sweep your arm forward.

    • 4

Twist your hand in the direction you want the ball to curve immediately before your arm reaches the end of the throwing motion.

    • 5

Release the remote's "B" button immediately after you finish twisting your hand and swinging your arm.
