How to Get Fast Bells in Animal Crossing: City Folk Without Cheating

Bells are the main form of currency in "Animal Crossing: City Folk" for the Nintendo Wii, and you'll need plenty of them throughout the game. When you first arrive at the town you move into a new house. First you have to pay off the mortgage on it and later you have to pay the construction costs to expand it into a larger place. Many of the items that you find around your town are worth thousands of bells, and you can quickly sell those items to earn money without cheating.

Buy a shovel from Tom Nook for 500 bells. Search the town for star-shaped markings on the ground. Use the shovel to dig in those areas. Bring any fossils you find to Blathers at the museum for identification. Sell the fossils at Tom Nook's shop. Tom pays between 1,000 and 6,000 bells for each fossil.
