Dodging Attacks

• Tabuu's most powerful attack is his red ring maneuver, in which he moves to the middle of the stage, spreads his wings, and unleashes three rings that damage the player. To avoid this attack, employ your sidestep maneuver by pressing the "Shield" button while you are in the air to dodge each of the three rings. Using this maneuver, you can also dodge Tabuu's "Golden Chain Whip" maneuver.

Air Dodging

• Tabuu possesses many attacks meant to attack the stage itself, such as the "Diamond Saw," "Golden Bracket," and "Dragon Beam" attacks. To avoid these attacks, simply stay in the air as much as possible by repeatedly pressing the "Jump" button.

Avoiding Tabuu

• Several of Tabuu's attacks, such as his "Exploding Warp" or "Sonic Slash" attacks require you to avoid Tabuu altogether as he executes them. Since these maneuvers are based on close-range attacks that will heavily damage you, staying away from him during these times is more beneficial than attacking.

Attacking

• Generally, The best time to attack Tabuu is when his arms are crossed and he teleports around the stage. You can also attack Tabuu when he employs his eye laser attack. When you see him appear on the edge of the stage and he begins charging his eyes, run towards him and use your aerial attacks against him. Make sure to time your jumps so you are in the air when he shoots the ground with his laser.

Other Times to Attack

• When Tabuu brandishes his neon blade, you can try attacking him from behind. However, this may not be successful, as Tabuu will chase you with the blade. When Tabuu begins his electric shield move, you can attack by staying away from him and making use of any ranged attacks at your disposal.

Needle Rain

• Tabuu's "Needle Rain" attack may seem unavoidable. However, if you stand under Tabuu as he raises a single arm in the air, you will avoid the majority of the attack. The final phase of the attack occurs when he sends a fireball at your position. Run away from the fireball to avoid it.

Exploding Clones

• "Exploding Clones" is a move rarely used by Tabuu, in which several clones of the boss appear in the stage. Rather than engage any of the clones, you should stay away from them and dodge them when necessary. The clones will explode when you touch them, dealing heavy damage.
