How to Kill Manuela's Mom on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for Wii

Hilda Hidalgo, the mother of Manuela, is little more than a mindless, mutated beast when encountered in "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles." The first time she is encountered, right before finding Manuela in the church, Hilda flees after a short fight. The player does not actually get the chance to kill her until the second encounter in Chapter Five. Most of her body is bulletproof. Only her face and the back of her neck where her brain is exposed are vulnerable. This boss fight is composed of several scripted events.

Instructions

- 1
  Press the buttons displayed on the screen to dodge her acid-vomit attack. She performs this attack after climbing on top of the platform. This can happen randomly throughout the fight.

  Shoot at her face whenever she lowers her head to cancel her other attacks. Canceling an attack means hitting an enemy during her attack animation, which stuns her and prevents the actual attack from occurring. This should be done for the entire duration of the fight. After about 30 seconds, you climb onto a stack of boxes. This is a scripted event that is not dependent on your actions.

  Cancel one of Hilda's attacks after climbing on top of the boxes. This is required before you can jump onto the platform across from Hilda.

  Shoot at Hilda's face and her exposed brain to damage her. She is a much larger target after you reach the platform. After a few seconds, Hilda jumps from the platform to the ground.

  Press the button displayed on the screen to jump onto Hilda's back.
- 6
  Shoot at Hilda's brain while on her back. She throws you off after a few seconds.

  Shoot at Hilda's face when she tenses up to jump at you to cancel her pounce attack. After about 20 seconds, a cutscene starts where Manuela interrupts the fight. You cannot fire at Hilda during the cutscene, but Hilda does not attack you either.

  Shoot at Hilda's face and exposed brain to drain the rest of her health. She is much less aggressive after the cutscene, but she still attacks. Hilda dies after you deplete her health completely.
