Things You'll Need
Instructions
Identify the cause of the problem with the Wii disc error. Remove the Wii disc and make sure you have placed it in the correct direction. If the disc is facing the correct direction and it still doesn't work, then try inserting another game. If the new game works inspect the disc that is giving you an error. Look at the bottom of the disc and look for scratches or smudges. If you can identify any scratches or smudges, then you know you must clean the disc. If there are no scratches or smudges on the disc then you must buy an official "Wii Lens Cleaning Kit" (see Resources) sold by Nintendo to clean the laser of the system.
Dampen the microfiber cloth lightly. Do not use paper towels or tissue as it they can scratch the surface and leave pieces on the disc.
Wipe from the center of the disc in a direct line towards the edge of the disk. Do not clean in a circular motion as it can damage the disc further. Keep wiping clean the disc until no more smudges are visible.
Dry the disc with a dry microfiber cloth. Using the same motion as wiping the disc, working your way from the center towards the edge of the disc. Let the disc dry with air for at least two minutes before testing it.
Test the Wii disc. Insert the disc into the Wii and try to play it. If the error occurs again buy an official "Wii Lens Cleaning Kit" (see Resources).
