Receive Special Furniture on Holidays
You can receive special furniture for your house when you participate in different holiday events. On Harvest Day, which is Nov. 27 in the game, you can receive a piece of the Harvest Furniture set when you talk to the turkey Franklin and trade him a fork and knife. On Dec. 24, Jingle the Reindeer comes to town and gives you a random piece of Jingle Furniture when you talk to him. On Oct. 31, each time you give Jack the Pumpkin Spirit a piece of candy, he'll give you a piece of Spooky Furniture.
Easy Gold and Silver Tools
The gold and silver tools increase your luck for obtaining rare items when you use them. They also never break or need replacing. Get a gold or silver axe by tossing a regular axe into the town square fountain. You will randomly receive either a silver or gold axe. To get a golden shovel, bury a shovel in the ground and wait 24 hours. When you dig it up, the shovel will be gold. The silver shovel is obtained by visiting Resetti Surveillance in the city.
Make Money
Players have a few simple ways to get rich quick in "Animal Crossing City Folk." When you obtain a golden shovel, you can bury bags of money in the ground for a chance to grow a money tree. The more money you bury, the more money your tree produces and the better your chances of the tree growing. Every day one rock in your town will produce bags of money when you strike it with the axe. Use the slingshot to shoot down balloons you see floating in the sky for a chance to win a bag of money.
Feng Shui
The way you decorate your house in "Animal Crossing City Folk" will have an effect on the game. A house with proper Feng Shui will earn more points and rewards from the Happy Room Academy and increase your overall luck for obtaining items and money. Decorating with Feng Shui involves placing certain colored objects and furniture in different areas of your house. Yellow items should go on the western wall, red items on the eastern wall and green items on the southern wall. All other colored furniture should be placed in the middle of the room or along the northern wall.
