Things You'll Need
Instructions
Ensure your microphone is firmly connected to your Wii. The microphone connects through a USB port in the back of your Wii. Make sure nothing is blocking the connection.
Take the game out of your Wii and check that there is no debris or scratches on it. Sometimes the problem with your microphone can really be an issue with the disc, so you'll want to make sure it is in working order. If there is any debris or scratches, try cleaning the disc by putting a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and carefully wiping the disc.
Change the batteries in your WiiMote, which must be in working order for your microphone to work. Once the new batteries are in, make sure your WiiMote, Wii and microphone are all in sync by holding the 1 and 2 buttons on the WiiMote to reconnect everything. Try playing another song and see if your microphone is now working.
Contact the manufacturer of your microphone if it is still not working. The microphone might be permanently broken or otherwise damaged. The manufacturer will be able to tell you of any recalls or warranty information for your microphone.
