How to Unlock the Powerups on the Spaceship in Super Mario Galaxy 2

"Super Mario Galaxy 2" adds several new powerups in this second go-around on the Nintendo Wii. One of these powerups, the Cloud Flower, allows Mario to create cloud platforms that provide access to otherwise unapproachable areas. Only the Cloud Flower is accessible in the Starship Mario, the "hub" or home base of the game, and it must be unlocked by obtaining a specific star.

     Pilot the Starship Mario to the Starshine Beach Galaxy.

     Complete the second star objective in this galaxy, "Climbing the Cloudy Tower." This will unlock the Cloud Flower on the Starship Mario.

   • 3

     Grab the Cloud Flower from in front of the Starship Mario's steering wheel.
