Wii Chat Games

The Wii Speak microphone and third-party USB microphones connect to the Wii console and enable players to sing, interact and chat with other players. A majority of the games are singing games, but there is a small collection of Wii Chat games that allow players to just talk through a microphone. In the games, players can connect to other Wii consoles and chat with them.
  1. Animal Crossing: City Folk

    • The game "Animal Crossing: City Folk" comes packaged with a Wii Speak microphone that works with the game. Players connect online to the Wii 24/7 service and then meet up with other Wii players and animals to chat with them. The Wii microphone is also used for general game commands and guides characters on the screen. Players can record messages and leave them in parts of the game for other friends to retrieve later.

    Wii Speak Channel

    • The Wii Speak microphone comes with a free download of the Wii Speak channel. Players get the "Friend Code" from another Wii and then enters the code to connect to up to three other players. The Wii Speak Channel interface uses built-in Mii characters to chat on-screen. As a player talks in the microphone, the Mii mouth moves along with it on the screen. The screen splits into four separate chat boxes for each player. When a player is not logged on, other players can leave voicemails or pictures in the game.

    Truth or Lies

    • In "Truth or Lies" players use the Wii microphone to detect whether they are telling the truth to sets of questions. The game has no online connection, but up to eight players can play in one home. The microphone is passed around and players answer questions as honestly as possible. If the game detects a lie, then they lose points. In the "Hot Seat" game, players get to make up questions for other players and use the microphone to test their answers.

    Storybook Workshop

    • Record stories, read along and change voices in "Storybook Workshop." The game features classic tales like "The Three Little Pigs," "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Hanzel and Gretel." Words appear on screen as a player reads along. Parents can record stories for children to listen to at anytime. The "Magic Box" mode features a voice-changing feature that matches characters such as the giant from "Jack and the Beanstalk." The game comes packaged with its own microphone.
