Wii Bowling Tips

One of the most popular games in the Wii Sports package is bowling. By using the Wii remote, players can imitate the action of real bowling. Wii Bowling can become frustrating if you lack the right form, but there are things you can master to help you get a high score every time.
  1. Function

    • First, you need to know how to bowl. Hold the Wii remote in your bowling hand.

Set up a bowling game and stand up in front of your TV. Hold the remote straight up with the buttons facing you. Press and hold the back "B" button. Swing your arm back and then forward. As your arm is about to pass your waist, let go of the "B" button to throw the ball. Use the directional buttons to change your position on the lane. This is a great tool to use if your ball has a natural curve.

    Features

    • Play enough games underneath one Wii Mii to earn that Mii a "Pro" status. Once you are a "Pro," you will get a new ball that spins faster and weighs more, giving you more accurate shots and higher scores.

Line up the Mii to the third arrow on the bowling alley. If you are right handed, go to the third arrow on the right; if left-handed, use the third arrow on the left. Hold down the "B" button and swing your arm back. As you swing it forward, twist the Wii Remote toward your body slightly and let go of the "B" button. The ball should have a slight curve and knock down all or most of the bowling pins.

    Types

    • In Wii Sports, there is regular bowling, as well as three training modules that will help you become a better bowler. The first training session is about knocking down spares. Playing this will help you increase your score, because if you cannot get the strike when bowling in a regular game, the spare is the next best thing.

The second training tool is called "Spin Control," in which you must weave your ball around blockades to knock down a pin. Use this training when you have your "Pro" classification so you can figure out how your spin works and adjust to the Wii remote.

The last training session is all about strikes. You start off with 10 pins and, after each turn, you add more pins until you have reached 99 in one roll.

    Considerations

    • Irritated that you cannot achieve a strike in the 99-pin training session? A cheating maneuver will knock all of the pins down. Move your player all the way to the right of the bowling alley. Press the left directional button just two times. Press "A" to change to a rotation position. Press the right arrow three times. Hold "B" and then bowl the ball as straight as possible. The ball will ride the rail and disappear. An explosion sound will be heard and all 99 pins will crash down.

    Time Frame

    • An average game of Wii bowling will take around 5 to 10 minutes. This time will increase when playing with multiple people. So, in developing a rhythm and style, bowl by yourself until you get it down pat.
