How to Convert Wii Games to Wad Format

Though Wii games are often in the Wii format, this is not always the case with downloaded games, such as home brew games. WAD is a popular Wii game format as it is space-efficient and easy to transfer. If you wish to turn your Wii file into a WAD format, you can download a program that allows you to convert files to WAD format or to convert WAD format files to other formats.

  Find and download the WAD Injector Program from the Internet. Follow the installation prompts to install the program. Double-click on the program from wherever you saved it to launch it.

  Move the game file and the ROM file that goes with it to your computer desktop. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon and enter the exact name of the game file into the search bar. Press the "Enter." Typically, these files are located in the downloads folder. Drag and drop the game file and the game's ROM file onto the desktop.

  Click the ROM button in the WAD Injector Program and click "Upload." Click the "Desktop" icon and click on the ROM file. Click "OK."

  Navigate to the Convert menu and click "Convert." Click on the "Desktop" icon. Click on the file of the game you wish to convert.

  Press the drop-down menu next to "File Type." Select "WAD." Enter a new name in the "File Name" text field. Press "OK."
