Obtain your Wii console's physical address. From the main menu, click "Wii Options," then "Wii Settings."
Browse to the second page, and click "Internet." Click "Console Information" to find the Wii's physical address.
Configure your router's MAC Filtering settings. If this option is enabled on your router, ensure the console's physical address is configured within it. Although settings access varies by router model, this option is typically found under the main "Wireless" option.
Launch the MAC filter table, and enter the physical address of the console. Apply and save the new settings.
Wired Connectivity
Click "Connection Settings" under the "Internet" options on the Wii menu. Click an empty connection slot from the three options available.
Select the "Wired" connection option. Connect a Wii LAN adapter to the USB port on the back of the console. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router's "Ethernet" port to the end of the Wii LAN adapter.
Click "OK" on the "Initiating Connection Test" message. Allow approximately 10 seconds for the Wii to establish a connection to the Internet. Optionally, download the latest Nintendo Wii update, which will be offered when the connection is successfully established.
Wireless Connectivity
Click "Connection Settings" from the "Internet" options page on the Wii menu. Select an available connection slot from the three options provided.
Click the "Wireless" connection option. Click "Search for an Access Point," and select your home network from the list of available connections.
Press "OK" when asked "Do you Want to Save These Settings?" Press "OK" once more to initialize an automatic connection test. Choose whether you wish to perform a Wii system update. If no errors are displayed, the wireless connection has been established successfully.
