Serving
Serving hard and low is the best strategy when serving to the Champion. Letting the ball fall close to the table before flicking your wrist forward generates a low serve. As with returning the ball, the harder you swing, the faster the ball will travel when you serve.
Forehand and Backhand
Using forehand and backhand swings at correct times is critical. For example, if you're a right-handed player, you don't want to use a forehand stroke when the ball is on the left side of the table. Deciding which stroke to use becomes more difficult when the ball is near the middle of the table. A good rule to follow is to hit the ball on the backhand if the ball is anywhere near your left side and with your forehand if the ball is anywhere near your right side. You can hit the ball with a forehand or backhand if the ball is directly in the middle of the table.
Applying Top Spin
Your ability to put top spin on the ball is critical when facing the Champion. Practice your top spin technique on lower level computer opponents before facing the Champion. The more vertical your swing is, the more top spin you will put on the ball.
Hitting To Table Edges
Swinging just to hit the ball isn't going to fool the Champion. You need to hit the ball to the very right and very left of the table to succeed. For example, if you're right-handed and you swing early on your forehand, you will hit the ball to the left edge of the table. Swing early on your backhand and the ball will travel to the right side of the table. Hit the ball too early and you'll knock the ball out-of-bounds. It's a thin line to straddle, but you need to place the ball on the edges at all times.
Bring It All Together
To beat the Champion, use every strategy in Wii Table Tennis. The Champion's only weakness is her forehand. She is left-handed. Return her serves with a hard, upward swing every time. The extreme top spin will make it difficult for her to gauge the direction of the ball. Your goal is to hit the ball to the very edge of the left side of the table by swinging early on your forehand if you're right-handed. At that time, she'll run over and barely loft the ball back to you. If you're right-handed, swing early on your backhand and pound the ball to the very right edge. Continue the strategy until she's defeated.
