How to Play Wii Fit Without Upgrading

"Wii Fit" is an exercise game for the Nintendo Wii that utilizes a unique peripheral called the Wii Balance Board. Players don't need to upgrade their Wii system to use the Balance Board because it works with any Wii system right out of the box. To play "Wii Fit" you only need the "Wii Fit" game disc, Wii Balance Board with batteries and a Wii remote.

Instructions

    • 1

      Insert the "Wii Fit" game disc into the Wii system, and turn it on.

      Insert four AA batteries into the Wii Balance Board.

      Place the Wii Balance Board in front of the TV on flat, stable ground, with the power button facing away from the TV.

      Select the Disc Channel from the Wii menu using the Wii Remote, and then Select "Start" to begin the game.

      Open the SD card slot cover on the front of the Wii, and remove the battery cover on the Balance Board.

      Press the small, red SYNC button beneath the battery cover on the Balance Board. The LED light on the Balance Board should start blinking. Replace the battery cover.

      Press the red, rectangular SYNC button under the SD card slot cover on the Wii system. The LED light on the Balance Board should stop blinking and remain solid to indicate the Balance Board has been synchronized with the system.

      Stand on the Balance Board, and follow on-screen prompts to set up your personal game profile. When you've finished this, you can play "Wii Fit."
