Insert "Call of Duty: Black Ops" into your Wii.
Select "Multiplayer" mode. Click "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection" and select "Player Match." Click "Create a Class." You can create five different classes to start out. Customize all five classes differently. For example, you'll want to equip a machine gun as your primary weapon for one class, in case you find yourself in close-range combat. You'll want to equip a sniper rifle for another class, in case the map is large and wide-open.
Select "Find Match." Choose the game you would like to participate in, such as Team Deathmatch, Free-for-all or Domination. Domination is similar to a "capture the flag" game.
Choose which class you would like to use. Click "Ready" when you find a match. The game will begin when all players are ready.
Find cover if the map is wide open. Your best chance of surviving a large, open map is by taking cover and either waiting for the enemy to come to you or by sneaking up on people. Press the "C" button on the Nunchuk to crouch behind something, or hold the button to lie down behind cover or in tall grass. Equip either a sniper rifle or long-distance gun, because close-range combat is typically hard to come by.
Stay on the perimeter if you're in a close-range map. Running around in the middle of any map is usually fatal, but that's especially true in a small map. Equip a close-range weapon, such as a machine gun or shotgun. Throw fatal grenades when you spy an enemy by pressing the "+" button on the Wii remote. You can also throw tactical grenades, such as smoke grenades, by pressing the "-" button. Aim the Wii remote to change the direction of the grenade.
Press the "Z" button on the Nunchuk to aim down the sight of the gun. Always use the aimer when fighting at an enemy.
Press "A" on the Wii Remote to sprint. Always use sprint to run to cover if you're caught out in the open. Press right on the directional pad to cycle through your weapons. If you're low or out of ammo for your primary weapon, quickly switch to your secondary weapon.
