"Dance Dance Revolution" has been around since the original PlayStation was the latest in gaming consoles. Its gameplay was unlike anything else on the mainstream market, as instead of the players relying solely on their hands, they used their feet to execute elaborate dance moves. The Wii version takes this a step further, challenging players to not only step to the right rhythm, but also to wave their arms correctly. Most the controls are still handled with the game mat, though, and understanding how to operate it is essential.

Plug the game mats into your Wii console.

Insert "Dance Dance Revolution" into the console and start the game.

Step on the game mat's arrows to select a game mode, such as "Versus" or "Work Out."

Dance in sync with the arrows during game play. For instance, once an "Up" arrow scrolls to the top of the screen, press the "Up" arrow on your game mat.
