How to Purchase Wii Points

Wii Shop Channel Purchase

  Load the "Wii Shop" channel on your Wii console. The Channel is typically located in the upper right corner of the Wii main menu. Install any needed updates, then wait for the channel to load.

  Select the "Points" icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. Use "A" on the Wii remote to select it.

  Choose the "Purchase Points" option. Select from 1,000, 2,000, 4,000 or 5,000 points.

  Plug in a USB keyboard to type in your credit card information. If you do have an available keyboard, use the Wii remote and on-screen keyboard to enter the correct information.

  Confirm your payment and wait for the credit card to process. Check the point balance to make sure the points were activated to your account.

Retail Store Purchase

  Visit a retail store such as Wal-Mart, Target or Best Buy. Look in the video game section for Wii points cards. The minimum card is usually 2,000 points, but occasionally you can purchase 1,000 point cards.

  Scratch off the pin number on the back of the card. Do not scratch too hard, or you might accidentally scratch away some of the numbers.

  Open the "Wii Shop Channel" using your Wii remote. Click on the "Points" icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.

  Click on the "Redeem Wii Points Card" on the right side of the screen.

  Use a USB keyboard or the Wii remote to enter the digits from the back of the points card. Wait for the points to process and automatically be added to your account.
