How to Level Up in The Last Remnant Early in the Game

"The Last Remnant" is a turn-based role-playing adventure game. While playing through the game you collect Experience, which moves you up through a series of levels called Battle Ranks. At the beginning of the game you are based in a town called Athlum, and you will be given simple quests to two areas, the Gaslin Caves and Robelia Castle. A good way to collect Experience early in the game is to revisit these areas repeatedly, battling the weaker monsters there instead of moving on to the next stage of the game immediately.

Instructions

  Play through the opening cut-scenes and tutorials until you are given the option to go to the Gaslin Caves or Robelia Castle.

  Open the Town Map, then the World Map and go to the Gaslin Caves. Fight your way through the monsters in the caves. You will face three groups of Roseflies and a Manticore before hitting the boss, a group of three slavers. Defeat them and take the teleporter back to the starting area.

  Open the World Map and go this time to Robelia Castle. Fight your way through the monsters inside, which will include four groups of Vile Lizards, a group of Landworms and two groups of Chimeras. At the end of the castle you'll face the boss, a group of Anti-Remnants, which are equal in strength to the slavers in the caves. Defeat them and take the teleporter back to Athlum.

  Play through the ensuing cut-scenes, and you will be told to go to Dillmoor. Instead, go back to Gaslin Caves again and you can battle the Roseflies and Manticores again. Then head back to Roslin Castle and fight the Vile Lizards, Landworms and Chimeras.

  Continue fighting through these two easy areas until you gain enough Experience to level up to a new Battle Rank.
