How to Become Pro with the Sniper for Mod 2

Released in 2009 for the Xbox 360 game console, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" offers players an expansive multiplayer experience in which they can cultivate their individual skill sets by unlocking more powerful weapons and perks as they level up with experience points (XP). However, becoming a pro with the sniper rifle requires not only XP, but a combination in-game strategy and preparation.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a sniper rifle that works for you and stick with it. There are four sniper rifles to unlock in the multiplayer game: the CheyTac Intervention (level one), the Barrett .50 caliber (level four), the WA2000 (level 36) and the M21 EBR (level 56). The higher levels do not necessarily mean they are better rifles -- they all have their strengths and weaknesses. For example, the M21 has the lowest accuracy, while the CheyTac has both high damage and accuracy.

    • 2

Choose the right camouflage for your environment. Unlock the arctic camo Ghillie suit by performing 50 one-shot kills with any sniper rifle. For the desert camo it will take 200 one-shot kills, and for the urban camo the number is 100. You will now be ready to blend into any of the multiplayer map environments.

    • 3

Choose a secondary weapon that will give you strategic short-range advantage. A shotgun or a machine pistol will give you a quick burst of fire which you can aim from the hip should anyone attempt to sneak up on you while you're sniping.

    • 4

Equip the right perks to augment your abilities. The Marathon Pro perk will allow you to sprint indefinitely -- ideal for when you're moving from between sniper vantage points. Stopping Power Pro will greatly increase your bullet damage, upping your ability to land one-shot kills.

    • 5

Equip the right weapon attachments. The "Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)" attachment will allow your sniper fire to penetrate walls and windows with ease, allowing you to take down enemies from afar even if they're taking cover. To keep yourself hidden while doing so, try the silencer -- this will not only keep your position off the radar whenever you fire, but your sniper bullets won't leave a trail, making it harder for enemies to scope out your position.

    • 6

Fortify your position with claymore mines. If you find an in-game perch with only one entrance, lay down some claymores. If they don't kill an approaching enemy, they will at least alert you to their presence.

    • 7

Stay down and keep your view in-scope. When spotting an enemy, you should stay in the crouch position to avoid exposing yourself. When you fire a shot and take down an enemy, make sure to keep your scope up. This way, when your enemy sees the killcam replay, they won't be able to see your position.
