How to Get Unbanned From Black Ops

Getting banned from "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is more common than you might think. Eager to level their characters, some players modify their controllers and Xbox 360 to artificially enhance their performance. These modifications, known as "modding," are a violation of the Xbox Live and Call of Duty Terms of Service. The punishment for modding can be permanent banning from any Black Ops play. While it isn't possible to reverse a ban, you can "un-ban" yourself by starting from scratch.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a new Xbox and Xbox Live account card from your local gaming store.

    • 2

Connect the new Xbox to the Internet using the Ethernet plug on the back of the console.

    • 3

Put your Black Ops game in the Xbox tray, and start the game.

    • 4

Choose the Xbox Live option from the main menu.

    • 5

Follow the on-screen directions to set up a new Xbox Live account using your purchased account card. Make sure to use a different gamer name and email address than the one used on your banned account.
