How to Unlock the Maori Mask in NHL 10

The Maori mask is one of the face masks that players can unlock in the Xbox 360 version of "NHL 10." You cannot gain access to it via purely in-game methods, however. Instead, you must purchase it on Xbox LIVE, Microsoft's online gaming and media network. Access to downloadable add-ons is available with the free version of Xbox LIVE. To access Xbox Live, you must connect your Xbox 360 to the Internet.

  Connect your Xbox 360 to the Internet. Turn on the system and then cycle through the options until you find "My Xbox." Enter this menu and choose "System Settings" from the available options, then choose "Network Settings." Select the name of your network if it appears. Select "Configure Network" and then enter the "Basic Settings" tab and select "Wireless mode" if the network name does not appear. Choose "Scan for Networks" from the available options and choose your network when it appears. Input your network password and test your connection to ensure everything the setup is correct.

  Join Xbox LIVE. Select "My Xbox" from the main menu, create your avatar and select "Join Xbox LIVE." Follow the on-screen instructions to sign up for Xbox LIVE.

  Purchase at least 200 Microsoft points. Players use these points like money to buy add-on features for "NHL 10" and other games. Buy Microsoft points directly from Xbox LIVE on your Xbox 360 console or at the Xbox LIVE website using your log-in information. Use a credit card or a Microsoft points gift card to make the purchase or add points to your account.

  Buy the Maori mask for 120 Microsoft points. Like Microsoft points themselves, buy the Maori mask with your Xbox system or on a traditional computer. Enter the Xbox LIVE marketplace and search for "NHL 10" under the "Game Downloads" tab, if you are using your Xbox to purchase the Maori mask. Log in to the Xbox Marketplace on Xbox's website using your account info and search for "NHL 10," if you are using a regular computer.

  Put the "NHL 10" game disc into your Xbox 360 and start playing the game. It should automatically load the Maori mask that you bought using your Xbox LIVE account.
