How to Hook Up an HDMI Cable to an Xbox360 Slim

High definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cables are one of the best ways to connect your video components to your television, as of August of 2011. Xbox 360 Slim users who aim to deliver the clearest audio and video signal to an HDMI-capable TV can connect an HDMI directly to the game console. The standard connection cable included with the Xbox 360 only connects to a TV via composite plugs. However, you can purchase a separate HDMI cable that is long enough to easily reach from the location of your Xbox 360 to the HDMI inputs on your TV.

     Place your Xbox 360 on a TV stand near your TV.

     Plug the power adapter cord into the power input located on the console's rear panel. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

     Plug the HDMI cable connector into the HDMI output located on the Xbox 360 console's rear panel. The HDMI port is located in the middle of the console's rear panel, under the AV port.

     Route the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on your TV and plug the cable into one of the ports.
